A Waupaca man and a Manawa woman are facing drug charges following a traffic stop in Manawa in late October. 24 year-old Dylan S. Nyman and 24 year-old Miranda A. Barden each face a felony count of possession of narcotic drugs, along with misdemeanor counts of marijuana possession, possession of drug paraphernalia and bail jumping.
Officers allege the two were under the influence of narcotics as they drove back to Manawa after a trip to Milwaukee to purchase drugs. Nyman has several other charges from separate, recent cases. He is charged with burglary and theft for allegedly stealing a large sum of money after allegedly breaking into a Town of Dayton convenience store. He also faces multiple other drug charges from a traffic stop just south of Waupaca this past Saturday. He is also charged with escape, after running from officers after being handcuffed; he was caught a short distance away.
If convicted, Nyman could face nearly twenty years in prison. He is being held on a $5,000 signature bond. Nyman is due back in court next Tuesday, Barden is back in court on the 22nd.
