The Outagamie County Board Tuesday gave their approval to a county-wide half-cent sales tax. The vote was 28-4, with four board members absent from the meeting. The tax is projected to bring in 20-million dollars per year to the county coffers, some of which is targeted for property tax relief. The new tax would go into effect beginning next year. Until yesterday’s vote, Outagamie County was one of just four counties in the state that did not have the half -cent sales tax.
