The Parfreyville United Methodist Church has announced the awarding of 5000 dollars in grant money to area groups that deal with youth. The money comes from the church’s Children and Youth Grant Program, which was made possible by a memorial donation received years ago to be used to help children and youth. Those receiving 1000 dollar grants are the Fox Valley– Waupaca Branch of the National Alliance on Mental Illness; the Waupaca Area Chamber of Commerce for their continued Future Greater Waupaca work with the high school’s Waupaca Works program; the Waupaca Area Cultural Exchange Committee. Those receiving 500 dollar grants are Project Backpack; Waupaca Area Boy Scouts; the area SADD organization, or Sudents Against Destructive Decisions; and the Conservation Field Day, run through the Golden Sands Research Council. Another grant cycle from the church is being planned for early 2019.
