Utility crews continue working to restore power to thousands around the state impacted by severe thunderstorms this week. Wisconsin Public Service says about 55-hundred customers in the Stevens Point area remain without power at this hour…. that’s the largest single outage still remaining in the state. The area around Marinette has 15-hundred customers still to be brought back on-line, while about 500 remain without power in the Wabeno area. Portage County Tuesday issued a disaster declaration for the entire county, and the city of Stevens Point. Major damage to homes and roadways is still being evaluated. No monetary assessment for the damage has yet been issued by the emergency operations center.
