The Waupaca School Board is hoping for community input on a potential project to improve athletic facilities at the high school. The first listening session is being held tonight at the district’s board room on School Street at 5:30. The project would consist of a new turf field at the current soccer stadium at the high school, to be used for soccer, football, and for other sport practices and phy. ed classes. If the project proceeds, it would mean the Comet football teams would move their games from Haberkorn Field to the new facility by as early as this fall. Fundraising is currently underway to help pay for the project, and school officials say the project will not affect the current school tax rate. Again, the first public input meeting is tonight at 5:30, with another meeting slated for this coming Monday night at 7:30. They’d like to see you there.
