An Iola man is in the Waupaca County jail on a probation hold following fleeing charges in Waupaca County Court. 24 year old Cory R. Quick faces felony counts of fleeing an officer and 2nd degree recklessly endangering safety, after allegedly leading officers on a high speed chase Sunday in the Town of Scandinavia, with passengers in the vehicle. The complaint alleges Quick fled from an officer on Hiway 49, with speeds reaching 80 miles per hour. The complaint says speeds were over 60 miles per our through Scandinavia and Iola. Officers attempted to use stop sticks near Iola, but the complaint says Quick veered into the other lane to avoid them. Officers discontinued the pursuit for safety reasons. Quick was arrested the next day. If convicted, he could face up to 13 and a half years in prison. He is due back in court next Wednesday.
