A former Weyauwega man has been sentenced to time served after pleading no contest to charges in Brown and Manitowoc Counties related to the abuse of horses. 54 year old Sterling Rachwal, now of Green Bay, entered the pleas to two counts of intentionally mistreating animals and two counts of disorderly conduct. He abused horses in those counties in February and April of last year, with one of the incidents captured on a trail camera. Rachwas was sentenced to time already served in jail, and two years probation. Previously, he served over 15 years in a mental institution after mistreating horses in Waupaca County in the summer of 1996.
