A Suring woman will serve time on probation following sentencing in Waupaca County Circuit Court on a felony aggravated battery conviction. 45 year old Destinee M. Lyons pleaded no contest to the charge late last week. Lyons stabbed a 41 year old man during an altercation in Marion in February 2015. She was ordered to serve 3 years in prison and 3 years on extended supervision, but that sentence was imposed and stayed. Instead, she was placed on probation for a period of five years, with no jail time.
Meanwhile, a New London man will serve time in jail on misdemeanor convictions of battery and disorderly conduct, both as acts of domestic abuse. 39 year old Adam R. Jensen entered no contest pleas to the charges, with a felony count of strangulation and suffocation dismissed in the plea deal. Jensen battered a female in New London this past June. He was ordered to serve 60 days in jail, with 40 days stayed, to be used at the discretion of his probation agent. Jensen was placed on probation for two years.
