Two area residents are facing felony marijuana charges in separate cases in Waupaca County Court. 27 year old Miranda A. Barden of Fremont is charged with 2nd offense marijuana possession, as a repeat offender. The complaint alleges Waupaca police officers found pot in her purse during a search subsequent to her arrest on outstanding warrants last Wednesday. Because of the repeater provision, Barden could face up to 7 years behind bars if convicted. She was released on a 2000 dollar signature bond, and is due back in court next Tuesday.
34 year old Jamie L. Bork of Marion makes his initial appearance in court January 8th on a second offense marijuana possession charge. The criminal complaint says Bork was arrested in Marion in mid-November on outstanding warrants from Shawano County. The complaint alleges pot was found in his pants pocket during a search. Bork faces up to 3 and a half years in prison if convicted.
