A two-vehicle accident near Fremont Saturday night sent one person to the hospital with serious injuries. Waupaca County Sheriff’s officials say it started when a car struck a deer on County Hwy II, causing severe damage. With the vehicle disabled in the southbound lane of traffic, an occupant of the vehicle got out to look at the damage, and that person was struck by a southbound vehicle driven by a 66 year-old Neenah man. The 55 year-old occupant was flown to Theda Clark Regional Medical Center with serious injuries. Deputies say alcohol was not a factor in the crash. No names from that accident have yet been released.
