A Shiocton man is being held on a 500 dollar cash bond following domestic abuse-related charges in Waupaca County Circuit Court. 34 year old Anthony E. Phillips is charged with battery and disorderly conduct, both as acts of domestic abuse and both with a repeater provision. Because of the repeater provision, the battery charge is elevated to a felony level. Phillips is also charged with bail jumping. The criminal complaint alleges Phillips struck a 39 year old female in the head with a belt buckle Tuesday in New London. The bail jumping charge stems from bond conditions on a disorderly conduct– domestic abuse charge in April. Court records indicate Phillips was convicted of domestic abuse in Waupaca County in 2016, and in Outagamie County in 2014. If convicted on the current charges, he could face up to two years in prison. Phillips is due back in court next Tuesday.
