An Ogdensburg man will spend over two years behind bars following sentencing in Waupaca County Court on two felony drunk driving convictions. 54 year old Deneil B. Smith entered no contest pleas to 4th -offense and 5th-offense operating while intoxicated charges. Smith was arrested for his 4th-offense OWI last August, then while out on bond, he was stopped for his 5th drunk driving in October. In that case he had put his vehicle in a ditch, and had a blood-alcohol concentration of .32 percent, according to the criminal complaint. Smith was given 345 days in jail for the 4th offense, with credit for 257 days already served. He was then given a two year prison term for the 5th offense, to be served consecutively, along with three years extended supervision upon his release. Smith must also install an ignition interlock device for three years, and lost his driving privileges for three years.
