A St. Paul, Minnesota, woman is being held in the Waupaca County jail following a felony drug charge in Waupaca County Court. 31 year old Mai See Cheng faces a count of possession of a controlled substance– 2nd offense, along with a misdemeanor count of carrying a concealed weapon. The criminal complaint says Waupaca police were called Tuesday to a west-side convenience store after a woman couldn’t pay for her 72 dollars in gasoline. Cheng was a passenger in the car. Upon questioning her, police learned she had outstanding warrants from Brown County. A search of her belongings allegedly turned up amphetimines, and she allegedly told officers she had a knife hidden in her bra. The complaint says Cheng then pulled a 3 to 4 inch knife from her undergarment. In court Wednesday, Cheng was ordered held on 2000 dollars cash bond. She faces up to 3 and a half years in prison if convicted, and is due back in court July 13th.
