A New London man will serve time in prison following sentencing in Waupaca County Circuit Court in a drug death case. 38 year old Eric Stern was ordered to serve three years in prison, and five years on extended supervision following his release. Stern supplied the heroin that killed Shane Heuer of New London in October 2018. A medical examiner’s report says Heuer died of Acute Heroin Intoxication. In September, Stern entered no contest pleas to charges of delivery of heroin and possession of narcotic drugs. A count of first degree reckless homicide was dismissed in the plea deal, but was read in for sentencing.
