A Stevens Point man will be sentenced in late November after pleading no contest to a homicide charge in Portage County Circuit Court. 32 year old Kyle Engen shot and killed 21 year old Deonta Lezine in March of 2016 during a drug deal in Stevens Point. Engen pleaded out 2nd degree intentional homicide, with two counts of attempted 2nd degree intentional homicide dismissed. The plea deal includes an agreed-upon sentence recommendation of 25 years in combined prison and extended supervision time. Engen has multiple other convictions over the last 10 years, including burglary and possession of marijuana with intent to deliver. He is sentenced on the homicide conviction November 28th.
