A rural Waupaca man is due in court next week facing four misdemeanor charges for “huffing” in his vehicle. In four separate cases, 42 year old Joshua D. Stocker is charged with four counts of operating while intoxicated–3rd offense, and four counts of intentionally abusing a hazardous substance. The criminal complaints say Stocker was found slumped over the wheel of his vehicle three different times between March 19th and June 11th, once on Ebbe Lake Road in the Town of Waupaca, once on Casey Road in the Town of Waupaca, and once in the ditch off County Highway “E” just outside the city. Each time the complaint alleges officers found an aerosol can either still in his hand or between his legs. The fourth complaint alleges Stocker had been “huffing” just prior to an accident on State Highway 49 just north of Waupaca at 5 in the morning on May 15th. Stocker has two prior drunk driving convictions, from 1991 and 2001. He is free after posting a 5000 dollar cash bond. He makes his next court appearance on the current cases Tuesday.
