A three-vehicle crash east of Hortonville claimed the life of a teenager late Monday afternoon. According to the Outagamie County Sheriff’s Office, a car driven by a 50 year old New London woman was stopped in traffic, waiting to make a left turn onto County Highway “JJ”. Authorities say a 17 year old Greenville man failed to slow down in time, and swerved onto the shoulder to avoid hitting the car. He then over-corrected, and went into the oncoming lane of traffic, colliding with a vehicle driven by a 50 year old New London man. The 17 year old was pronounced dead at the scene, while the New London man was taken to a Fox Valley hospital with serious injuries. The crash closed the highway for over five hours. Names of those involved have not been released. The 17 year old is the 16th person to die in an Outagamie County crash this year.
