Thousands of people in the northern half of the state remain without power at this hour, due to the high winds that rushed into the state overnight and this morning. The far north is still the hardest hit, with over 16-hundred people without power in the Three Lakes and Lac Du Flambeau areas. Around 540 people in the Green Bay also are without electricity, as are over 230 people in Ringle near Wausau. Over 125 customers are affected in both the Merrill and Suring areas. Crews have been called in from other parts of the state to try and get homes and business back up and running. Meanwhile, the high winds toppled large trees on squad cars in Langlade County. One of those vehicles was an Antigo Police Department squad, while the other belonged to the sheriff’s department. Both cars are considered total losses.
