One of two people charged in the hit and run death of a Waupaca woman earlier this year is being held in the Waupaca County jail on 30-thousand dollars cash bond. 54 year old Marcos Tomas of Clermont, Florida, made his initial appearance in court this (Monday) afternoon. Tomas and 34 year old Felicia Lubin of Evans, Colorado, each face a count of hit and run resulting in death, as a party to a crime, in the death of Jackie Johnson of Waupaca. Johnson was struck and killed in the early morning hours of September 15th as she walked along U.S. Highway 10 in the Town of Lind, about two miles east of Waupaca. Tomas is alleged to have been the driver of the striking vehicle, with Lubin his passenger. Prosecutors asked for the 30-thousand dollar bond, and Judge Troy Nielson agreed. The defense asked for 2000 dollars cash, which Tomas said he could pay. If convicted, he faces up to 25 years behind bars. Tomas is due back in court next Tuesday.
