The National Weather Service Office in Green Bay has confirmed a tornado did much of the damage to trees and property in Waushara County two weeks ago. The storms around the state on June 14th spawned at least 10 twisters, with one on the ground for 2.8 miles between Wautoma and Wild Rose, uprooting hundreds of trees and damaging numerous homes and buildings. The weather service says is was an EF-1 tornado, with winds of 90 miles per hour. The Waushara County Board late last week issued an emergency declaration. With that, the county can apply for up to 70 percent reimbursement from the Wisconsin disaster fund.
