A Green Bay man is due back in court next Tuesday following a felony fleeing charge in Waupaca County Court. 27 year old Samuel C. Charlier was allegedly clocked by a state trooper at over 100 miles per hour on State Hiway 54 in the Town of Royalton Thursday. A Waupaca County deputy began a pursuit, but discontinued it when speeds hit 110. Charlier allegedly continued to flee through the city of Waupaca, where an officer clocked him doing 70 miles per hour on West Fulton Street. The complaint says Charlier a few minutes later crashed the car on U.S. Hiway 10 near County T in Portage County. Authorities say they are still investigating other potential charges in the case.
Meanwhile, in another traffic-related case, 64 year old Randal L. Hedtke of Hortonville has been charged with causing injury by intoxicated use of a vehicle. Hedtke was driving a vehicle last Thursday on State Hiway 54 east of Madden Road in the Town of Mukwa that crashed into another vehicle that had pulled onto the shoulder of the roadway to help a disabled car. Two people standing by the vehicles were injured in the collision, including a woman who suffered 7 broken ribs. The complaint alleges Hedtke had a blood-alcohol concentration of .146 percent at the time of the crash. He could face up to j10 years in prison if convicted. Hedtke is due back in court February 27th.
