The Waupaca High School Fieldhouse is closed to all activities, after the heavy snow damaged the trusses. The problem was discovered earlier this week, according to Waupaca Athletic Director Aaron Jenson. Jenson says they put the court-dividing curtain down on Tuesday, and noticed that it was dragging the on floor. Engineers came in Wednesday and found the trusses damaged. After conferring with the manufacturer, the school closed the fieldhouse until further notice, meaning all upcoming indoor practices for track, softball and baseball, as well as phy. ed classes, have to be moved. Jenson says the district’s building and grounds workers will be trying to remove the snow from the roof today. The cost of fixing the problem is not yet known.
