Two Waupaca men are facing drug charges after authorities had to respond to a drug overdose in a vehicle. 32 year old Noah J. Ostrander is charged with operating a motor vehicle with a restricted controlled substance– 4th offense, while 34 year old John W. Nendza faces counts of possession of narcotic drugs and bail jumping. The criminal complaint says deputies were called to a vehicle in the Town of Waupaca where Nendza, the passenger, had allegedly overdosed on drugs. Paramedics used Narcan to revive him. The complaint alleges Nendza’s heroin was found in the vehicle. The vehicle’s driver, Ostrander, allegedly admitted to deputies that he had smoked marijuana prior to driving. The complaint says his preliminary breath test indicated a .045 intoxication level of pot. Ostrander has 3 prior drunk driving convictions dating back to 2006. He faces up to 6 years in prison if convicted, while Nendza faces up to 12 years behind bars. Nendza is being held on 5000 dollars cash bond, while Ostrander is in jail on a 2000 dollar cash bond.
