An Appleton man and a Waupaca woman are the latest to be charged with drug crimes in Waupaca County Court. 26 year old Nickolas J. Poplawski and 22 year old Ava D. Meighan made initial appearances in court Monday. Both face a single count of possession of methamphetimine, with Poplawski also faces a felony bail jumping count. The complaint says Waupaca police were called to a residence Saturday where the owner reported an overdose. The complaint says police Poplawski brought meth to the home, where both he and Meighan injected it. Police say they found a baggie that still had some of the drug in it. If convicted, Poplawski faces up to 9 years in prison, while Meighan could face 3 and a half. Poplawski was ordered held on a 5000 dollar cash bond, while Meighan was released on a 2000 dollar co-signed signature bond.
