Two Waupaca men have been charged with attempting to break into a downtown city apartment. 24 year old Skylar R. Basina and 20 year old Christopher J. Hendricks each face charges of burglary and criminal damage to property in Waupaca County Court. The pair are alleged to have broken through a window on an upstairs apartment door, in an attempt to enter the residence. The criminal complaint says one of the apartment owner’s caught the two in the process of the break-in. Hendricks was detained at the scene, while Basina was arrested a short time later after allegedly fleeing the scene. Both men face up to 12 and a half years in prison if convicted. Basina was released on a 2000 dollar signature bond, and is due back in court August 16. Hendricks will make his initial appearance on the charges August 30th.
