Two area men are facing charges in Waupaca County Circuit Court that include battery to police officers. 35 y;ear old Louis C. Dresen, Junior, of New London is also charged with resisting arrest and disorderly conduct, after police found him allegedly intoxicated in traffic in New London Friday afternoon. The complaint alleges Dresen kicked an officer in the thigh after missing the officer with a punch. He is being held on a 25-hundred dollar cash bond, and is due back in court April 3rd, facing up to 6 years in prison if convicted. In the other case, 38 year old Randell Sawyer of Clintonville is charged with battery to a peace officer, disarming an officer, and disorderly conduct. The complaint says Sawyer was off his medication Saturday when he caused a disturbance. He allegedly fought with an officer, and tried to pull the officer’s weapon out of its holster. Sawyer faces up to 12 years in prison if convicted. He’s also being held on a 25-hundred dollar cash bond, and is due back in court today.
