Two people are facing felony charges of possession of methamphetamine in Waupaca County Court stemming from a traffic stop on July 16. According to the criminal complaint, 27-year-old Trent Manley of Dale and 19-year-old Hailie Kruger of New London were in a car when an officer noticed them parked with their taillights illuminated. After running their license plates, the officer noted that the registration was two years expired. Upon approach to the vehicle, the officer noticed Manley asleep and upon waking up was slurring speech and had bloodshot eyes. Upon inspection of the vehicle, officers found a bag filled with crystals that were later confirmed to be methamphetamine and a pipe. If convicted, Manley faces nine and a half years in prison and Kruger faces four and a quarter years.
