Two people suffered injuries in separate, suspected, drunk driving injury accidents. According to the Waupaca County Sheriff’s Office, 61 year old Donald J. Bellile of New London was southbound on Pine Street Saturday afternoon in the Town of Royalton when his vehicle crossed the centerline, went across a gravel driveway, hitting a utility pole and some trees. Bellile was flown from the scene to ThedaClark Regional Medical Center in Neenah with serious injuries. Bellile was also cited for operating while intoxicated, and having open intoxicants in the vehicle.
Earlier Saturday, around 2:30 in the morning, 20 year old Houston D. Schroeder of Fremont was northbound on County “T” in the Town of Lebanon. The sheriff’s office says he fell asleep at the wheel, crossed the centerline into the west ditch, where the vehicle rolled three times. Schroeder suffered minor injuries, and was taken by ambulance to ThedaCare– New London hospital for treatment. He was cited for operating while intoxicated, and failure to keep his vehicle under control.
