The Portage County Sheriff’s Office has released the identities of the two men in the boat that capsized on the Wisconsin River near the Lake DuBay Dam just before 7:00 Saturday morning.
The body of 60 year old James Glodowski of Stevens Point was recovered within two hours of the accident. 56 year old Timothy Coulthurst, also of Stevens Point, is still missing and presumed drowned. The two men were fishing in the area when their boat got too close to the open dam, south of Lake DuBay on the Wisconsin River and capsized. Recovery teams searched all weekend for Coulthurst, including crews with side scanning sonar, but they have not been able to locate him. Officials say poor weather and treacherous water conditions have hampered search efforts. The sheriff’s office says teams will continue to comb the area, including using unmanned aerial vehicles to scan the shoreline and river.
