A Waupaca woman is now being held in the Cass County Jail in Fargo, North Dakota, after allegedly interfering with child custody by taking two kids out of state without permission. According to Waupaca Police Captain John Helgeson, 37 year old Jaydin C. Pankow was picked up by the North Dakota Highway Patrol over the weekend. The criminal complaint alleges another parent had child custody rights for Saturday, but Pankow allegedly left Friday after telling friends she thought her home was “bugged”, and she wanted to visit Florida. Authorities were able to trace her cell phone to an area near Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and an apprehension bulletin was put out for surrounding states. Pankow is awaiting extradition back to Wisconsin. Captain Helgeson says the two children are in protective custody in Cass County. Pankow could face up to 24 years in prison if convicted of the two custodial interference charges.
