The University of Wisconsin- Stevens Point has suspended its men’s basketball coach in response to major allegations regarding its basketball program. Coach Bob Semling is being suspended for the remainder of the season, 13 games, with assistant coach Kent Dernbach taking over. Plus the university has self-imposed a post-season ban for this year, including the WIAC conference tournament. Semling has coached the Pointers since 2005, and has led the team to 4 National Championships. This year the team is 6-5. The NCAA is investigating for alleged rules violations involving the team’s practice times.
