A New London man will serve 15 years in prison after being convicted Thursday in the death of his son. 37 year-old Lance VandenBusch entered a no contest plea to a charge of 2nd degree reckless homicide in the death of his nearly 3 year-old child in December of 2013.
The charge was reduced from first degree reckless homicide in the plea agreement. The criminal complaint says the child suffered a traumatic head injury while under VandenBusch’s care, while the child’s mother was at work. He died at a Milwaukee hospital six days after the injury occurred.
Along with the prison time, VandenBusch will serve 10 years on extended supervision following his release.
