An Almond man is heading to prison for leading authorities on a 17-mile high speed chase last July. 35 year old Bruce Vossekuil entered no contest pleas Thursday to felony counts of fleeing an officer and 1st degree recklessly endangering safety. Portage County Judge Robert Shannon ordered Vossekuil to serve 3 and a half years in prison, and 2 years extended supervision upon his release. Vossekuil fled deputies in the Town of Pine Grove last July 9th, with speeds reaching 100 miles per hour, with the chase crossing into Waushara County. He ditched his car and fled on foot. Authorities searched, but could not locate him, until he was discovered in a Plainfield-area home 8 days later.
