Waupaca’s city administrator was cited for disorderly conduct by Waupaca police over the weekend. According to Police Chief Brian Hoelzel, 59 year old Henry Veleker was allegedly involved in a disturbance inside and outside a downtown Waupaca bar shortly after midnight Saturday. Hoelzel says Veleker left the scene before officers arrived, but was found a short time later walking on South Main Street. Veleker was issued a municipal citation for disorderly conduct and released. The incident remains under investigation. Veleker was arrested in April 2017 for drunk driving. In September of that year he pleaded no contest to the charge, and paid fines and costs of over 900 dollars, and lost his license for 8 months. The city council also placed Veleker on two weeks unpaid administrative leave.
