With little discussion and no public input, the Waupaca County budget was passed this morning by the Waupaca County Board of Supervisors. The 74 million dollar spending plan calls for a property tax levy of 27.2 million dollars, and a tax rate of 6 dollars and 80 cents per thousand, about 7 cents per thousand higher than the 2017 budget. The means, for the typical 100,000 dollar home, an increase in 7 dollars in tax. The will vary somewhat, depending on each municipalities increased valuation. Two board supervisors voted no on the budget…. Pat Craig of Royalton and Fred Zaug of New London.
