Waupaca’s largest employer is announcing a reorganization. Waupaca Foundry will merge with Hitachi Metals Automotive Components USA, LLC. The merger is part of a larger reorganization within Hitachi Metals Foundry America.
Waupaca Foundry will assume the assets and liabilities of Hitachi Metals Automotive Components…both companies are currently subsidiaries of Hitachi Metals Foundry America. A Waupaca Foundry spokesperson says the merger will not negatively affect employment at the foundry, and will likely bring more production to the company.
Waupaca foundry employs more than 3,900 people at its six plants, including Waupaca. Hitachi Metals employs 485 people at locations in Pennsylvania and Illinois. The merger is expected to be complete April 1st of this year.
