The enrollment at the Waupaca School District continues to slowly decline. The school board tonight will get a look at the third Friday count, from September, done statewide every year for schools to get accurate numbers for the purposes of receiving school aid money from the state. The third Friday count last month showed an enrollment of 2081, down from 2118 a year ago, or a drop of 37 students. Just how that will affect the district’s budget numbers for this year will also be discussed at tonight’s meeting also. The district’s public budget hearing is slated for Thursday, October 26th, beginning at 5:15 a the high school community room.
