Waupaca School District taxpayers should see a reduction in their school taxes when they get their property tax bills in December. Preliminary budget numbers show a reduction of 58 cents per thousand in the district’s tax rate, which equates to a reduction of 58 dollars on a 100,000 dollar home. The district will again be taxing over a million dollars under the state’s allowable revenue limit. Waupaca was one of only seven districts in the state that did that last year. The district is receiving more in state aid this year, only the 2nd time in the last 8 years state aid has gone up. It’s up by about 114,000 dollars. The school’s public budget hearing is October 27th.
