Beginning next school year, teachers in the Waupaca district will be participating in a once-a-week Professional Learning Time, to enhance teacher effectiveness. District Administrator Greg Nyen says teachers will meet every Wednesday afternoon at 2pm to take part in curriculum development and instructional strategies to help increase student achievement. With that, the district will be introducing a one and a quarter hour early release on Wednesdays for the high school, middle school, WLC, Chain Elementary, and the Chain Exploration Center Charter School. Because of the inconvenience of early release for some families, students will have the option to remain at school under the supervision of the district’s Educational Assistants, and ride the regularly scheduled bus home as they would any other day. There will not be early release for students in W4K or the Early Childhood Special Education Program. More information on the early release days is available on the district’s website.
