The Waupaca School District will no longer operate its own school buses. Beginning next school year, the district will begin outsourcing its busing services. The school board this month voted to accept a 5-year contract proposal from Go Riteway, a Milwaukee-based company, for 6.06 million dollars, to operate Waupaca’s Transportation Services. Go Riteway operates through-out Wisconsin and parts of Illinois. School district business manager Carl Hayek estimates the district will save over 900-thousand dollars over the 5-year contract. Go Riteway says they plan to keep all of the district’s drivers and staff for the first year.
