Waupaca Mayor Brian Smith has declared a State of Emergency for the city. The declaration has been made as a precautionary measure to ensure that the city will be able to effectively respond as needed to what is a rapidly changing situation. The city has already closed the library, senior center and recreation center, and is limiting attendance at tonight’s City Council meeting, to help ensure they have a quorum so city business can continue. City administrator Aaron Jenson says all essential city functions will continue. If you need to contact city hall or the Police Department, you are asked to do it by phone or online.
