WDUX Radio is soon to be under new ownership. Longtime owner Bill Laird announced the sale of the station February 24th, with the sale of the station to Tower Road Media now pending FCC approval. The 67 year old Laird also announced his retirement from the broadcasting business. Bill Laird’s mother, Dorothy Laird, started WDUX-AM in 1956 and owned the station as Laird Broadcasting, while his father, Ben Laird owned and operated Green Bay Broadcasting, which included stations in Green Bay, Upper Michigan and South Dakota. WDUX-FM was added to Laird Broadcasting in January 1967. WDUX currently has eight full-time employees, and six part-time employees. FCC staff approval of the sale is expected within 40 to 60 days.
