Waupaca High School’s Boys Basketball and Girls Hockey programs will be under new leadership after their head coaches turned in resignation letters on Tuesday. Long-time Boys Basketball Coach Ron Weber is stepping down after 35 years, while Girls Hockey Coach Tim Guyer has led the program since in started four years ago. Guyer led the girls to a Great Northern Conference Championship a year ago. The Boys Basketball Program’s last conference championship came in 2006-07.
The resignations bring to four the number of head coaching positions that will need to be filled before next year. Along with Weber and Guyer, Girls Basketball Coach Amanda Bronk stepped down, as did longtime Comet Football Coach John Koronkiewicz, who is retiring from teaching at the end of the school year.
