An Oshkosh man who led police on a “wrong-way” chase on Highway 10 will serve time in prison following sentencing in Waupaca County Circuit Court. 25 year old Andrew S. Sleaper entered a no contest plea to a felony count of 2nd offense– operating a motor vehicle without the owner’s consent. Several other charges were dismissed in the plea agreement, but read in for sentencing. They include 2nd degree recklessly endangering safety, fleeing, and hit and run. Sleaper, in a stolen car last October, led police on an 11 mile chase from near Weyauwega to Waupaca, much of it with Sleaper going westbound in the eastbound lanes of U.S. Highway 10. In sentencing late last week, he was ordered to serve four years and four months in prison, along with three years on extended supervision following his release.
